It can be a long and sometimes lonely road if you do not want to talk but you are struggling....
Let's face it, we see so many posts about 'Let's talk', but we all know that, in general, when we do talk, people do not listen.....
Or maybe, we cannot find the words, we cannot form the words, maybe it is not natural for us to talk about how we feel, jeez, sometimes we have no idea how we do feel.
We know we do not feel good, we may feel confused, we may feel muddled, mixed about, overwhelmed or numb.
How do we even start to communicate that......
So we do not talk.....
BUT, talking is not the only form of communicating. Yes, our society is determined sometimes, on the idea that talking is only way that we can effectively communicate.
I do not believe that is true.......
We communicate to others how we feel, all the time. Maybe it is the way we hold ourselves, maybe it is the way we talk (not very much or all of the time), maybe it is our body language, maybe, it is in our eyes, maybe it is our energy........
Animals communicate without speaking and a lot of us do exactly the same. We are doing nothing wrong.
We all need to learn how to communicate with each other without words.
No one is at fault for not talking...........
I believe it is more important how you feel, not what you say and I have, over the years, learned to listen, to words and to the unspoken communications such as body language, energy and visual signs.
I listen more to the non verbal communication because that is where the truth is.........
To be a listener of the non verbal communication, we need to be 100% non-judgemental, to control unconcious bias, to want to learn about the person in front of you, because we are all the same, we are in this together, to not offer advice at all in any way, to sit with and to listen.....
And there are many people now learning this long forgotten skill of just being with someone. To learn how to really connect.
So if you do not want to talk, I will sit with you, I will listen..........
